OSINT Framework was focused on gathering information from free tools or resources to help people find free OSINT resources. While browsing through the Framework’s website and github page, I found that the number of tools has grown exponencially and to me at least it felt that starting an OSINT investigation shouldn’t require navigating through 500+ to find the right one. The challenge is around investigators knowing where to begin and this OSINT Tool Selection Wizard solves this with a guided approach that connects you to the perfect tools in minutes.

A small tool to recommend OSINT tool based on some strategic questions. What are you investigating β a person, domain, or multimedia content? What information do you have β email, phone number, username, or photograph? Whatβs your objective?
How the OSINT Tool Selection Wizard Works
Instead of browsing endless categories and many many tools, the OSINT tool selection wizard asks few strategic questions.
- What are you investigating – a person, domain, or multimedia content?
- What information do you have – email, phone number, username, or photograph?
- What’s your objective?
Based on your responses, the wizard curates relevant tools from the OSINT Framework database and presents professional workflows. Each recommendation explains why specific tools suit your investigation, helping you understand effective OSINT methodology. This is still early days so I think it’s a possibility to enhance the wizard to include more tools (from the original OSINT Framework) that gives you ratings or maintained status or sort by paid/free and such.
When you have too many to choose from!
OSINT tool selection wizard serves beginners who feel overwhelmed by available tools and experienced professionals seeking streamlined workflows when assisting the newbies. Newcomers can start productive investigations immediately with proven methodologies, whilst seasoned investigators eliminate time spent searching through categories.
Built on Proven Foundation
This doesn’t replace the work done, but rather introduces a new way that enhances @lockFALE’s OSINT Framework, which established almost as the standard for organising intelligence tools. The live framework at osintframework.com continues serving investigators worldwide.
The OSINT tool selection wizard adds intelligent guidance to this proven foundation, providing a smart entry point that connects investigators to the right tools faster.
That’s it, Enjoy and happy for you to provide feedbacks.
